Methods to Fix Frigidaire Dishwasher Won’t Start Issue
Fortunately, there are multiple methods that you can follow to fix this starting issue on your Frigidaire dishwasher.
Method # 01: Check Power Socket
In the first place, try to unplug and plug back your dishwasher. This is a simple method that may fix this problem without spending any penny.
Method # 02: Replace Power Cord
If you have tried the above method but it doesn’t work for you, then check power cord from the rear of dishwasher machine. You need to check the power cord connection to ensure it is tight. If you find any problem, you should replace its power cord for new one.
Don’t use indoor extension cord as it might create fire hazard.
Method # 03: Check if there is Water Running Inside Dishwasher Machine
Sometimes, Frigidaire dishwasher may not run when there is no water inside it. So the first thing you should do is check that there are some inches of water inside dishwasher machine.
If not, then run its drain cycle until water starts flowing in from the sink outlet to ensure there is enough water for operation.
Method # 04: Resetting Control Board
If your Frigidaire dishwasher won’t turn on, it might have a problem with its control board. To confirm this issue, you can simply follow the steps below:
- Turn OFF your dishwasher and then unplugged its power cord.
- You need to open its door and check if there is any red LED or other light indicator flashing in front of control board. If there is no light indicator, the circuit breaker inside it has been tripped and you will have to reset it by pressing its reset button.
- After resetting control board, you need to plug back your dishwasher and try again if it still doesn’t start.
Method # 05: Repair Dishwasher Heater Element
Step 1: Unplug the power cord and remove any foreign object such as food or debris in the area surrounding the heating element. You should check wiring or hose on the heating element to see if there is any damage.
Step 2: Now turn off water supply to your Frigidaire dishwasher and open both hot and cold water faucet which leads to a kitchen sink. This will relieve pressure in both sinks as well as the hose leading from the sink to the dishwasher. After that, close off both faucets.
Step 3: Next, will need to use a small screwdriver or pliers to remove the 2 clamps which hold the heating element in place. You don’t need to expose all of it because you can test the wires from insulation with your fingers. After removing clamps, unwrap and unplug both power cord and water inlet hose.
Step 4: You can now test the element by using a multimeter or wire tracer to see if there is any continuity between it and where the wires are connected into. If you find no connection between them, then this may be an indicator that something has burned out on the circuit board inside your dishwasher.
Step 5: If you find that the wires are connected and there is no problem with its heating element, then you need to inspect and clean it for any blockage. You can use a small brush to clean out debris from where the wires enter into it.
Step 6: Once everything is cleaned up, plug back your dishwasher power cord and try again to see if it still doesn’t start.
The Frigidaire dishwasher won’t start due to multiple reasons and there are a few methods that you can follow in order to fix the issue: Check power socket, replace power cord, check if water is running inside dishwasher machine, resetting control board or repairing heater element. Try these solutions one by one until your problem has been fixed!
